The image below, of the Colony Hotel on Ocean Drive, was shot for an article on Miami travel, featured in the Jan./Feb. issue of AAA Living Magazine.

Below are some additional Miami/travel shots that were also being considered for  the article.  I had a great time shooting in Little Havana's famed 'Domino Park' on Calle Ocho, where I encountered some very colorful characters.

Jack Dorsey wants to Square Up & I want to Catch Up

Since I'm playing catch up with my blog, I'm going way back in the archives for this post.  This is an assignment I shot for SQUARE back when I was still living in the Bay area.  Square, started by Jack Dorsey, (who is better known as the founder of Twitter) is an awesome mobile payment service which utilizes a credit card reader that plugs into your smart phone or tablet...it allows small businesses (like me) or individuals to accept mobile payments via credit/debit card without having to invest in expensive equipment or pay 'per swipe' fees.

Todd Spitzer, the owner of Remedy Coffee in Oakland (which has sadly since closed) was early to embrace this technology for his business, so Square wanted to feature Todd in the ad.  It was really fun to work with Todd since I was already a frequent customer at Remedy.

Playing Catch Up

After a looong break from this blogging thing, I've decided to re-visit it.

A lot has happened since my last blog entry...for one, I moved all the way across the country from Oakland, CA back to Miami, FL (where I lived previously from 2003-2006).  I'm still traveling to CA frequently, in fact I'll be there at the end of December for a shoot, but I'm now calling Miami home.

And speaking of moving/travel...

I love maps...I like to look at them or rather study them, closely-  always contemplating my next move or place I'd like to visit.  I've always wanted to make a map like the one below, to illustrate the places I've called home, so I finally decided to take a few minutes and make it happen.
